While skiers and snowboarders can still get their turns in every Friday through Sunday through June 30, and July 3-7, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is preparing for a sizzling summer with a variety of new activities and events for visitors of all ages.
Alpenglow Expeditions’ New Tahoe Via Ferrata & Grand Opening Party
Opened last fall, Alpenglow Expeditions’ Tahoe Via Ferrata will mark it’s first full season of adventure starting June 15. Located on the iconic Tram Face at Squaw Valley, the Tahoe Via Ferrata towers above The Village at Squaw Valley. Visitors have the option to purchase group or private tours that each last 2.5, 4, or 7 hours. Participants will take routes that include cable bridges, metal rungs to aid in climbing, and more traditional rock scrambling sections. Every participant will be guided by professionally-trained mountain guides and will be secured to the rock using permanent steel anchors and cables. A harness, helmet and safety lanyard will be provided by Alpenglow Expeditions. Reservations can be made here.
Tahoe Via Ferrata will celebrate its grand opening with a party on July 3. Attendees can enjoy a half-day climb on the Tahoe Via Ferrata for just $99 (using the code “ViaGO” at checkout). There will be music by Truth Cartel in The Village from 2-5 p.m., along with the Sufferfest Beer Booth with all proceeds benefiting the Truckee Donner Land Trust and Donner Summit Climbers Coalition.
