Winter Park Resort in Colorado will open for the winter 23/24 season this Friday, the 3rd of November. The resort made the announcement via an email to those subscribed to its snow reports.

Starting at 9 a.m., the Gemini Express will be serving 15 acres of skiing and riding on Village Way and Lower Parkway, and more will open as soon as conditions allow. Currently, the Arrow Lift is undergoing maintenance but will open as soon as its previously scheduled maintenance is complete. For those who want fuel for their first day on the slopes, Starbucks, Doc’s, Bradley’s, Waffle Cabin, Pizza Pedal’r, and Derailer (with a limited menu) will be open for business.
“We’re looking forward to getting our first laps in with everyone, but we’ll have limited terrain at least for now. It’s still early in the season, and our teams have been putting in the work to get as much terrain open as possible. We’re also looking at a lot of exciting additions to the resort this year, including new food and beverage locations, live events, and Ski + Ride School opportunities for every level.”

The resort will run lifts with regular hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lifts will start up at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Gear and equipment rentals will be available out of Village Rentals, and guests can sign up for private ski or snowboard lessons until group lessons begin later in the month.
The resort got 16″ of fresh snow earlier this week, giving them 24″ for the ‘season’ so far, and has been making snow since early this week. Another 6″ or so is in the forecast for early next week.
Last season Winter Park opened for the season on October 31st, its earliest opening day ever.
Elsewhere in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin opened on Saturday, and Keystone is opening today, Wednesday 1st.
