Big Sky, Mont. โ The Yellowstone Club Community Foundation (YCCF) today announced it is providing $1,668,500 in its 2024 spring grant cycle to 33 nonprofit organizations and qualifying government entities such as schools and libraries that serve communities in the greater Big Sky region. In fiscal year 2024, which includes the fall 2023 and spring 2024 grant cycles, YCCF has provided $2,214,805 in grants to local and regional partner organizations.
Montana State University’s Center for Mental Health Research and Recovery, and the Department of Counseling, School Counseling Program was one of the 33 grant recipients. Dr. Katey Franklin and Dr. Rebecca Koltz, of Montana State University commented, “This funding significantly aids in supporting mental health for rural youth in Montana as we work to get our online school program up and running. We are truly thankful.”
“We are honored to support the great work of local organizations in the Big Sky, Bozeman, and greater southwest Montana region that are working to provide food security, housing stability, conservation of natural resources, and accessible mental health care,” said Ciara Wolfe, YCCF’s Vice President of Philanthropy. “Our Foundation was created by members of the Yellowstone Club who wished to make an even greater philanthropic impact in the community. YCCF’s spring grant funding prioritized investment in critical needs in the areas of livability, health and wellness, environment, arts and culture, and education. Specific grants will support access to no- or low-cost mental health care, affordable housing, and high-quality childcare. To support area youth, grants will provide for scholarships, programming, and sports and outdoor equipment for summer camps, outdoor adventure experiences and mentoring. Foundation funding will also serve workforce development initiatives for behavioral health workers, as well as snow sports instructors and ski patrollers.
