The owner ofย Points North Heli, Kevin Quinn, went out for birdโ€™s eye view of Lake Tahoeโ€™s new snow yesterday. ย He & his passengers snapped these photos and weโ€™re very grateful heโ€™s allowed us to use them here. ย Thereโ€™s no better way to get a feel for how much snow is in a mountain range than flying over it and gawking at it from every possible angle.

Squaw & Alpine have a bit of snow coverage since last weekโ€™s storm that dropped around 10โ€ in the higher elevations. ย Now that temperatures are consistently cold at night, snowmaking is in full effect at Squaw and Alpine. ย Theyโ€™re cranking out as much snow as they can each night in preparation for opening as soon as possible.
