Winter has returned to Alta!!!! After a grueling most of January and February, March arrive with a great storm cycle! We received over 40″ over the past week, and conditions have been fantastic! The storm started ramping up on Friday and it snowed through Tuesday! Then on Wednesday and Thursday we had classic Wasatch bluebird powder days. Temps remained on the cool side then the snow remained awesome.

Wednesday saw openings on ballroom and backside and Thursday Main Chute, Baldy shoulder, and Devil’s Castle all opened. The Shoulder skied great though a bit boney and Devils Castle was sublime powder skiing!

The skiing was so good I will just let a few pictures do the rest of the talking! Enjoy!

SNOW REPORT:

24 hour snowfall: 0”
7 day snowfall: 31″
base: 87″
season snowfall: 252″

WEATHER:

After a much needed storm we had a couple welcomed bluebird powder days. However we are now under the grip of another high pressure ridge that is sitting over the whole West. Temps will rise through the weekend and into next week with bbq and sun bathing weather by next Wednesday.

Right now it is too far out to put much faith in the models, but it looks like by the end of next we we may start to see a more active weather pattern with some more snow.
