The 25th of august a storm hit Valle de Las Leñas leaving almost nothing of snow on the slopes.

The next morning we started early, the weather conditions looked perfect for hiking and we decided to go for Cerro Torrecillas. Tristan Sanchez, Lorenzo Medioli and me formed the team.

We approached on skins up to Cerro Negro bottom, continued the trail hiking on boot deep snow up to the summit of Torrecillas. Lorenzo was heading the line, he was the first one to get the top after three hours of hard work. He shouted excited in his funny Italian accent: “ALTO POLVO LOCOOOO, NO LO PUEDO CREER!!!!” and we knew it was going to be a day to remember.

We skied down on 3 feet deep of champagne powder on a calm sunny day. Imagine how good it was that I went for a second run, and it was the perfect end of journey I could have shared with my friends in the middle of the Andes.
