A small New York ski area is for saleโagain.ย
After acquiring a new owner in 2021,ย Toggenburg Mountain in Fabius, New York has been listed for sale again, originally listed at an asking price of $2,900,000 in May 2022. However, after 2 months of no sale, the property dropped its price in July 2022 and again even lower in April 2023 to the current price of $1,995,000.
The ski area hasย two lifts, three t-bars, and 21 trails spread out across 150 acres. It comes with snowmaking equipment and a restaurant at its base. This small New York Ski Area could be all yours for less than the average-priced single-family home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The lack of a sale in over a year however along with the two price reductions can make one begin to speculate: why hasn’t anyone bought this ski area when it’s priced so low? Why is it priced so low, after all? Could the area be struggling with snowfall, or is there some sort of issue with the ski area’s design? Or maybe there just aren’t that many skiers in that part of New Yorkโwho knows? Either way, $2 million is a steal for a ski area, no matter what shape it’s in.

It’s 3 chairs, 2 rope tows and no T-bars. The mountain design is great, it’s the person that purchased it just to close it is the problem.
Nobody in the area likes the owner who ripped the mountain apart, hence no one wanting to buy it. Almost all of the people who live in the tri county area loved to ski at togg. Everyone loves to ski in this area. If anything, everyone is pissed off it got closed and ripped apart.
