Locals, commuters, second-home-owners and visitors of the alluring Lake Tahoe region have the opportunity to voice their comments and concerns regarding the future for transportation projects around the Tahoe region. The TahoeFund Instagram posted with a link to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) release of a “two-minute” survey, asking questions mainly concerning safety while travelling on the basin roads.

Questions included on the survey are geared towards driving, motorcycling, biking, walking, rolling (one-wheels, skates, skateboards), public transit, etc, and any safety concerns around these activities.

This survey comes during a time of turmoil between those who are for and against the current development of the U.S. 50 Tahoe East Shore Corridor Management Plan. The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) leads the study and is co-lead by the TRPA.

Change, whether viewed as good or bad, is inevitable. However, doing so in a responsible, sustainable, and environmentally conscious way, should be at the fore-front of any and all development agencies plans in order to maintain the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe.
