Alex Ferreira Receives FIS Crystal Globe in Vail

Alex Ferreira received his FIS crystal globe for his freeskiing accomplishments. According to the Aspen Times, Ferreira finally got to take home his Fédération Internationale de Ski trophy on May 14th at the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail awards dinner in Vail, Colorado. Specifically, Ferreira won the prized trophy in the Men’s Halfpipe discipline for 2018.

The FIS globe is an intricately cut crystal statue crafted by master craftsmen with painstaking detail. The trophy is immaculate and intricate in detail. It is made by JOSKA crystals and the 1,200 degree molten mass is forged into a globe which is detailed with intricate snowflakes, according to CNN.
