Report from December 13, 2021
Brought to you by Alta Ski Area
I zipped up to Alta for a handful of laps this afternoon.
I forgot my gloves…
Fortunately, it wasn’t that cold but it was windy.
I didn’t last long but the skiing was terrific.
My favorite run was right under the Collins Chair.
I love skiing under the chair early season because my form has gone to crap over the summer (not that it’s ever great) and skiing under the chair makes me ski as technically sound as possible because I can feel the eyeballs glaring down on me.
My dad almost exclusively skis under the chair and is always trying to put on some sort of comic routine.
Anyway…
The skiing under the chair was hot.
Smooth, chalky, responsive snow allowed for fast speed and quick, powerful turns.
There’s a big storm rolling tomorrow through Wednesday that should be a lotta fun.
Let the good times roll!
