Report from December 4th, 2020

Yesterday was the first warm day since Alta opened for the season.

The signboard at the bottom of the Collins chair said 51ºF for a while.

It was nice.

Sunny, light wind, few people, and I met up with an old friend for a few laps.

We’ve found a little slopestyle course with little jumps and fun moves here and there.

The snow was good on the groomers yesterday due to the copious amounts of snow Alta has made recently.

They made so much snow the past few days that they even had a mini-fake-snow avalanche that happened after hours in a closed-off zone that was neat to see.

Alta continues to ski great with quite a bit open.

Chairs open:

  • Collins
  • Wildcat
  • Sugarloaf
  • Sunnyside

The forecast continues to look very dry.
