Alyeska Resort in Alaska is having one hell of a season. It’s absolutely dumping up there and showing no signs of stopping. The most recent storm took the resort past another significant milestone–700″ snowfall for the season.

Alyeska averages 656″ of fresh snow at the summit every winter.

700″. That’s over 58 feet of fresh snow this season. Incredible…

700″. 58-feet. That’s enough to bury a Brachiosaurus. Or 12 Danny DeVitos. Or three giraffes.

Alyeska has exceeded 700″ four times in the last 10 years. In 2007/08, they reported 875″ of snow, 2009/10 880″, 2015/16 826″, and in 2021/22 848″.

The snow depth at Alyeska is currently 153″.

The world record for a ski area is 1,140″ at Mt. Baker ski area, WA, in 1998/99.
