(Girwood, AK) Alaska’s only lift-accessed downhill mountain bike park is set to open Friday, June, 9, at Alyeska Resort. In operation for the past six years, the trails have been continuously  upgraded to include a diversity of terrain options for all abilites. From road, to single track, to man-made features, the park offers a great mix of downhill options.

There are several trails to choose from and 3 lift options available. They are fast, rock and root filled downhill insanity! Body armor is almost a must!

2017 Operation Dates: June 9 – September 10

Hours: Noon – 6:00pm, Friday – Sunday, and Holiday Mondays

Day Ticket Prices:

  • $25 – Lower Mountain
  • $35 – mid & lower
  • $45  – all mountain

Season Park Passes: Adult (ages 19+) – $250.00

Rental equipment available : Variety of bikes, helmets, protective gear

Events:

Enduro

The Alyeska Enduro features a 6.5 mile loop consisting of  three downhill timed segments linked by uphill segments that are not timed.  Your result will be the combined time of the 3 segments. Your total lap time will not be used to determine your placing. Registration will begin at 9 am with racing beginning at 10 am.

Alyeska Cup Race Series – June 25, July 30, Aug. 27 & Sept. 3

The Cup Race Series is a downhill mountain bike race series that challenges the rider’s skills on a downhill single-track course. Riders complete timed runs and earn points throughout the series, with a winner determined based on best times.  Weekly prizes! Entry is free with the purchase of a day lift ticket or season pass. Download registration form 

Women’s X-Country Skills Clinic

This one-day clinic is geared towards women cross-country bikers who want to learn and improve downhill techniques to conquer AK’s challenging bike trails. Bring your own bike or rent one of our downhill bikes. Learn more 

5th Annual Mountain Bike Festival – September 1 – 4

The 5th annual Mountain Bike Festival will offer three days of competition, live music, demos, workshops and of course, riding the Alyeska Bike Park. Events include a chainless downhill, tight-rope ride, distance air, and cross-country rally. Additional biking-themed competitions including whips & tricks, wheelie comp, and the popular Pond Crossing, where competitors attempt to cross a floating bridge without falling into the cold water, will be offered. Mountain Bike Festival

Summertime at Alyeska Resort features the state’s only lift-accessed downhill mountain biking.

Weather:

Girdwood, Alaska, is surrounded by the peaks of the Chugach Mountain Range, situated in a temperate rainforest. Although temperatures are generally mild during the summer months, come prepared to dress in layers and keep that rain gear handy. Summer also provides an abundant amount of daylight, at times as much as 20 hours per day.
