Arapahoe Basin, CO, to Double Open Terrain and Add Park Features on Saturday

Thanks to sterling efforts from its snowmakers and groomers, and a sprinkling of help from mother nature, Arapahoe Basin, CO, will be doubling its open terrain on Saturday.

The resort, which has received 11″ of fresh snow this week, announced yesterday that they would be opening Ramrod. A-Basin opened on Sunday with the Black Mountain Express lift serving the High Noon run.

New terrain alert! Our second run, Ramrod, will open this Saturday. Still no beginner skiing or riding. Big thanks to Mother Nature and our snowmakers for making this happen.

The lift will continue to run from  8:30 am through to 4 pm. The resort warns that early season conditions exist and opening day is not a beginner experience.

COO Alan Henceroth also mention on his blog that they aim to have some terrain park features open this weekend too.

The Snowmakers are putting some white stuff down just South of Black Mountain Lodge. We plan on installing a few park features here. The objective is to have that complete by the weekend.
