48 Hours in Wolf Creek, CO with 42 Inches of New Snow

wolf creek ski area

The pre-Thanksgiving storm that teased parts of the SW and hammered others has come and gone. In the end Wolf Creek Ski Area, Colorado received a storm total of 42โ€ณ of snow bringing the season total up to 105โ€ณ. Wolf Creek is nestled in the perfect corner on Wolf Creek Pass allowing it to suck the moisture out of every passing storm cloud and lotโ€™s of clouds pass this family owned gem! Well manicured tree lines await the powder chaser. The only problem; no lift lines. This means the only rest you get is on the chair or the short but worth [โ€ฆ]

Halloween Pow in San Juans, CO | Report & Photos:

Trying to determine the season can be slightly convoluted this time of year. Is it summer or is it winter? Mountain Biking in hot Moab sun one day and the next morning you are back in Telluride making turns on your skis or snowboard. Snowshoeing along your favorite trail enjoying the subtle crunch of the new snow beneath each step. As we returned from a quick trip to enjoy Moab we were met by new snow on the high peaks. Excitement built quickly as the snow continued to fall. Trick or treat? Iโ€™ll take the treat of powder [โ€ฆ]

San Juan Mts, CO Conditions Report: Riding Big Lines on September 30th, 2013

I must admit, Iโ€™ve never skied in September. Iโ€™ve ridden my bike in the snow, Iโ€™ve thrown snowballs and Iโ€™ve enjoyed September surf sessions, but Iโ€™ve never skied in the month of September, until today. Luke and I were certainly happy with the outcome. Spirits were high as we left town early and began the drive into the high alpine. What we were looking for was shaded North facing slopes with enough wind deposited snow to make it count. What we found was exactly that, with surprisingly cold and dry winter snow. Autumn [โ€ฆ]
