Mt. Baker Conditions Report: A Much Needed Powder Day Mt. Baker had a powder day this past week on Monday and it was FUN, all things considered! It’s amazing what a little face shot can do for the soul. The Legendary Banked Slalom – Locals Qualifier also occurred that day, which is always a great day on the hill. New snow and a great event to get our minds off the lack of snow over a long holiday […] Conditions Report Naomi VanPatten | January 25, 2015 0 Comments
Mt. Baker Conditions Report: Groomers Mid-week, Snow for the Weekend Baker got the cat crew out this week for more grooming than usual which provided some fun for those mid-week skiers and riders who wanted to work on their carving skills. Mt Baker Conditions Report: Start Dancing! Well it’s been a rough start to the season in Washington but blue bird days at the hill prove to always be better than a day in an office. Despite sun, warm temps and rain, Baker is still holding their snowpack with 40″ at Heather Meadows base and 61″ at the base of Pan Dome. Mother Nature is being selfish for us but mid-week we saw sunny, springtime conditions that can sometimes be welcomed […] Conditions Report Naomi VanPatten | January 10, 2015 0 Comments
Mt Baker New Year’s Conditions Report: 10″ on the Way Early in the week we had some beautiful (somewhat rare) blue bird days that remained cold so the powder from the prior week stuck around and welcomed skiers and riders to the New Year right. Lots of hikers were visible from chair 8 on the Shuksan Arm earning their turns in the untouched pow. The Canyon and the natural half pipe were open which made for some added fun. It warmed up later in the week but then started snowing and it’s currently dumping. Fingers crossed the freezing levels don’t get too low next week. Here’s to a happy and healthy new year with lots of pow! […] Conditions Report Naomi VanPatten | January 4, 2015 0 Comments

Mt. Baker Conditions Report Winter has officially arrived in the PNW and Mt. Baker now has the deepest snowpack in Washington! It snowed most of this holiday week (December 22 – 28, 2014), covering and filling in much of what was left and we even had a few deep powder days, typical Baker style. Baker is now able to run all eight lifts and about 95% of trails are open. Ski patrol managed to get Canyons open Sunday afternoon with some hooting and hollering from those who found the goods. With 5″ of new snow in the past 12 hours and 16″ of new snow in the last 24 hours, there are going to be some happy skiers and riders. Friday and Saturday […] Conditions Report Naomi VanPatten | December 28, 2014 0 Comments
Mt. Baker Opening Day (finally!) Conditions Report Mt. Baker is open and there were lots of smiles, snow and shredding to be had yesterday for opening day! It was a little crowded but what opening day isn’t? Especially when Washington has had to wait so long to get the goods. Baker had 7″ of new snow yesterday, 14″ in the last 48 hours and 23″ storm total of new since Thursday. The Heather Meadows base total is now 30″ and Pan […] Conditions Report Naomi VanPatten | December 21, 2014 0 Comments
