Big Sky Resort, Montana, recently announced its lineup of passes for next season, which go on sale in April.

Access to the coveted Lone Peak Tram, which was upgraded for this season, is once again a change that pass holders must navigate.

For the 2023/24 season, the resort changed its access to the tram from a pay-per-day basis to a pay-per-ride model. Now, for the 2024/25 season, after what the resort calls “a year of learnings,” it is making changes again to provide choice in how guests access the tram, as well as continue to manage the rider frequency and the ski experience off of Lone Peak.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • All 2024/25 single-day or multi-day passes will automatically include tram access.
  • The Gold Season Pass will provide full-season access as well as unlimited tram rides.
  • The Double Black Season Pass will provide full-season access and 25 rides on the Lone Peak Tram
  • Ikon Pass, Mountain Collective, and Big Sky Resort passes without tram access will continue to have the option to ride the tram on a per-ride basis via auto charge.

The range of season pass products provide options to fit different budgets and access needs. Frequent riders on the tram are encouraged to consider either the Gold or Double Black Season Pass.

Other changes that are new for the 2024/25 season include 3, 4, and 5-day multi-day passes with blackout dates over busy holidays as well as the new Twin Tips Pass, which offers unlimited early and late season resort access. All Big Sky passes come with additional benefits including 20% off Big Sky lodging reservations, 10% off at retail outlets, 10% off dining outlets, 50% off summer scenic lift tickets, and more.

Whether Big Sky Resort is your home mountain, or if you just plan on visiting, know your options and start planning now to ensure the best experience.
