The iconic ‘Bone Zone’ at Brighton Resort, UT, opened to the public last week. The area, which is free to all, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as long as there’s snow. However, the area shut down yesterday due to a lack of snow and will remain closed until conditions improve.
BRING A SHOVEL! The @bonezonebrighton is back 🦴🏂 With this snow it looks like we can last until the end of the day if everyone helps out! The Bone Zone is a community effort so please bring a shovel if you plan to ride and a tarp if youโve got one for carrying snow. Letโs keep it going til tomorrow by working together 🙏

Originally a secret area in the woods of Big Cottonwood Canyon, UT, the Bone Zone was a park created in the early season by skiers and riders who wanted to shred before resorts opened. Its success was ultimately its downfall, as increased traffic in the area alerted the police and forest authorities to its existence, who promptly shut it down.

The Bone Zone reopened in 2015 at Brighton Resort in the Explorer beginner area, featuring both natural and manmade features.ย This season the area is at the base of the Milly Express.
The area did not open in 2020 due to the pandemic, reopening in 2021.ย
Itโs not located by explorer. Itโs located to the left of the milly lift.
