Day 9: Tapering

My nephew Till and son Wolf decided to sign up for a cross-country marathon race nine days ago.Prior to this, neither of them have ever been on cross-country skis before. This real-time blog documents their efforts to get ready for the 53rd Engadin Ski Marathon in just 10 days. Today is the last training day before the race.

Since it snowed about 10 inches overnight, we decided to make the tapering day an alpine day instead. The boys are excited about the race tomorrow and in good spirits.

Day 1-9: Training Summary

Till: 79.9 miles of cross country training

Wolf: 25.3 miles of cross country training

Aside from two training days, Wolf has not spent any time training. He has decided to just wing it, we will see how that will go.

“I did a half marathon without a problem. I am sure it’ll be fine.”
