Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort, CA, Cancels New Year’s Eve Festivities

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort in the Sierra Nevada, California, announced that it had to cancel its New Year’s Eve festivities. The resort announced the decision on their website and social media accounts:

“Unfortunately, due to unseasonably low snow levels we have had to cancel all New Years Eve festivities. We are as sad as you are, keep the snow dances going and we hope to be able to see you all soon.”

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort is currently closed for skiing and snowboarding due to a lack of snow, however, tubing, hiking, and some beginner lessons are still being conducted. Mountain Operations is working diligently to prepare for the upcoming winter season, but for now, full operations are not possible. Until January 7, 2024, operations will be limited and all chairlifts will be closed until further notice.

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort is located approximately 60 miles from Yosemite National Park, right off of the Sonora Pass Highway 108. The resort on average sees 350 inches of snowfall but so far this season has only had 16 inches of snow. The resort offers a vertical of 1,600 feet and has a peak elevation of 8,200 feet. There are 62 runs across 862 acres which are serviced by 10 lifts.
