Early season stoke has begun in Oregon. It snowed in Oregon yesterday and apparently somewhere in the high Cascade Mountains it snowed enough to enjoy some serious powder skiing like this. Odds are it took quite a bit of effort to get this shot. Nice work.

The forecast is suddenly looking better for Oregon ski areas. NOAA is saying “New snow accumulation of 1-3 inches possible” for the Anthony Lakes Area on Thursday. Anthony Lakes is a great ski area for getting snow when sometimes the other ski areas are not. It’s in the Eastern Oregon desert which is sometimes the coldest place in the lower 48 states during the winter. Additionally, it has the highest base elevation in Oregon at 7,100 feet.

Few inches of Snow for Mt. Bachelor this week.

The Mt. Bachelor forecast now has the potential to bring out the first real taste of winter in Oregon. The NOAA forecast for higher up at Mt. Bachelor is also calling for some snow. Wednesday night says “1-2 inches possible” and Thursday NOAA is calling for “1-3 inches possible.” Hopefully this snow can stick around and start filling in the ridges at the top of Mt. Bachelor.
