[VIDEO] Hamburg, NY, Just Received 81.2″ of Snow, Setting a New York Record

A new official storm total of 81.2″ has been recorded for Hamburg, NY between Wednesday night and Sunday. This surpasses the total for Orchard Park, NY at 80.0″ for the most recent lake effect snow emergency. This also surpasses the 2014 lake effect snow event in the Buffalo Southtowns by a few inches, although the wind was a bit less, writes Reed Timmer.

Hamburg also smashed the record for most snow in a 24-hour period in New York, receiving 66″. The previous record was 50″ set in Camden in 1966.
