It was quite the day down at Lowers, with top seeds advancing in, at times, epic Lowers. The heat of the day undeniably went to Heat 11 of Round 1 which saw Julian Wilson, Miguel Pupo and John John Florence taking turns wowing the crowd. Eventual heat winner, Julian Wilson advanced straight to Round 3 — but it wasn’t easy, as Miguel’s huge grab rail air reverse landed him a 9.33 and a True Innovation nomination. LOWER TRESTLES, San Clemente, CA (Sunday, September 15, 2013) – The 2013 Hurley Pro at Trestles kicked off competition today in clean two-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Lower Trestles, completing Round 1 and the opening four heats of Round 2 before day’s end.
Stop No. 7 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Hurley Pro at Trestles brings the world’s best surfers to one of the planet’s most high-performance venues for a week of barrier-breaking surfing and dramatic competition.
