The Indy Pass is having a monumental offseason.
After previously announcing 12 new ski areas for the upcoming winter season, the Indy Pass will be adding Jay Peak Resort to bring its total to 57 independent ski areas.
Jay Peak Resort, located in Northern Vermont, is known for its challenging terrain and a lot of snow. It has the largest average annual snowfall of any ski area in the Northeastern U.S at roughly 355 inches. On the skiing end, Jay Peak boasts a vertical drop of over 2,000 ft, spread across 385 acres of terrain.
Along with the new ski areas being added, the Indy Pass has seen an explosion in season pass sales. Doug Fish, the creator of the Indy Pass, recently indicated Indy Pass sales are up 645% over last season. He believes the Indy Pass serves its own niche market for the casual skier, who may not want to buy a traditional season pass and only wants to ski a couple of days a year.
Fellow Indy Pass ski area and northeast neighbor Cannon Mountain, NH offered welcoming words to Jay Peak following the announcement.
โItโs fantastic to see another major northern New England icon like Jay Peak involved in the Indy Pass! Yet another big, family-friendly ski area with great snow and truly challenging terrain.โ
โ John Devivo, General Manager of Cannon Mountain
The Indy Pass is currently on sale for $199 and offers 2 days of skiing and riding across 57 ski areas in the US and Canada.
