Bridger Gondola and Marmot Lift Opening Friday; Thunder and Sublette Lifts Opening Saturday
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), Wyoming, is pleased to announce that it will open four additional lifts and a variety of terrain in the coming days after a strong winter storm recently pushed the Resort’s snowfall to over 100 inches this season. Another winter storm is currently hitting the Tetons, giving visitors improving early-season conditions across the Resort.
JHMR officially opened the Casper lift on Wednesday, Dec. 6, and will open both the Bridger Gondola and the Marmot lift on Friday, Dec. 8. JHMR will also open both the Thunder and Sublette lifts on Saturday, Dec. 9, offering a wide expanse of intermediate and advanced terrain in addition to runs on the north side of the mountain already available via the Teewinot, Après Vous, Teton, and Sweetwater lifts.
Last weekend’s winter storm brought the resort’s snowfall since Dec. 1 to 34 inches, and heavy snow is expected to resume Thursday and continue throughout the weekend.

JHMR also announced that it will offer sightseeing on the Resort’s famous Aerial Tram from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The latest round of openings will mark the beginning of the first full season of the new Thunder Lift, which was the most popular lift on the upper mountain last year. Installed in 2022 as a replacement for the Resort’s original Thunder lift, the new Thunder runs twice as fast as its predecessor and cuts down on riders’ time from more than seven minutes to less than four, all while giving visitors the same access to some of JHMR’s most legendary terrain.
The Resort also announced that a string of restaurants will open in the coming days, beginning with the Casper Restaurant on Thursday. The Off-Piste Market will welcome visitors beginning Friday, and the Piste Mountain Bistro will open its doors on Sunday, Dec. 10. RPK3 opened in late November.
JHMR reminds visitors that it is once again limiting the sale of daily tickets and managing capacity for a fourth consecutive year in 2023-24, greatly improving guests’ experiences on the mountain and throughout the resort.
Ticket sales are limited on a daily basis and are available for advanced purchase, and tickets may sell out. Due to demand, JHMR encourages all skiers and riders to make reservations as required for its multi-resort pass products or purchase day tickets in advance.
Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective pass holders are required to make reservations for lift access. JHMR recommends making reservations well in advance. Guests who purchased a JHMR Winter 2023-24 Season Pass can ski or ride on any day indicated by their pass type.
