I got up in the morning yesterday, made some coffee and a quick breakfast, put my ski pants on, and as I’m walking out the door to go to Alta Ski Area I get stopped: an alert on my phone reads that Little Cottonwood canyon has closed to uphill traffic. Yesterday, Sunday, Feb. 23, there were so many people in the canyon and so little parking available that the Utah Department of Transportation had to close U.S. Highway 210 (the highway leading to Alta and Snowbird) to uphill travel for several hours. Here’s that alert:
The road was closed yesterday for an approximate total of three hours. When it reopened around 2 pm, I went skiing.
Or get up before the crack of 11:00…
But probably they should carpool
Maybe people should carpool.
