Report from April 10
Thursday, April 10, was a classic spring ski day at Monarch Mountain, Colorado.
It got hot quickly in the morning, with a high of 46ยฐF and a complete absence of clouds.
Sun, slush, and lots of skin were the themes under blue skies today.
Gloves came off early, quickly followed by jackets and then shirts.
I saw people skiing in everything from swimsuits to baggy costumes.
The groomers were great and off-piste had great corn.

As the day went on, the snow got softer.
I explored new areas that were more enjoyable with variable conditions than steeper zones.
The Breezeway lift ran all day, allowing me to lap mellow trees alongside the Ramble On trail.
Turbo and Short N Sweet skied very nicely off the left side of the Panorama lift.
There is still an incredible weekend of spring skiing ahead.
But some of my favorite, steeper runs off the right side of Pano are certainly on their last legs.
It was really nice to enjoy a calmer day, reflecting on what I had achieved throughout the season.
This season at Monarch has been fantastic, and Iโm very excited for the closing weekend.
The Gunbarrel Challenge will be featured on April 13, closing day.
Participants will hike up the mountainโs first trail and ski down as many times as possible.
The weekend will also be marked by high temperatures up to 50ยฐF and slushy skiing under blue skies.
The stoke will be alive at Monarch all summer as the No Name expansion continues in preparation for the 2025-26 season.
Season passes for next season are available now to renew at the same price as this year.
