Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has unveiled plans for a new recreational race league, the Friday Nite Gates race series, set to debut in March. The series, part of the resort’s extended “SKI” G.I.F. Fridays, will feature late-night skiing until 6 pm and will be Tahoe’s newest recreational ski racing league.

Teams comprising 4-8 members must include at least one snowboarder and one female athlete for each Friday night race. Participants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid lift ticket or season pass for race day.

Races will take place on the right side of KC Bowl, with six events scheduled from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Teams will select four racers for each race, each completing two runs. Points will be awarded based on the top combined score, with results updated on the website Saturday mornings.

The series will showcase a loose slalom course, and themed team names and optional costumes are encouraged. The pinnacle event, the FNG Cup, will be awarded on April 12 at the Lakeview Deck at 4:30 pm. Space is limited, and interested parties are urged to sign up promptly.
