NOAA: Winter Storm Warning Issued For California | 8-14″ of Snow Tonight – Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and a Winter Weather Advisory in California. They’re in effect Today – Saturday. Heavy snowfall is forecasted to impact the area throughout this time. The heaviest of which will occur Saturday morning.

California:

  • 8-14″ of Snow Tonight – Saturday

“Next storm set to move into northern California tonight. Major travel impacts possible, especially Friday night into Saturday, with whiteout conditions, major delays & possible road closures.”

Snow levels are expected to drop all the way down to 3,500ft.

The 6-10 day outlook calls for above average precipitation and below average temperatures in California.

  late tonight into Saturday. This snow will be more powdery.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 11 PM Friday to 3 PM PST Saturday. Heaviest
  snowfall expected Saturday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult Saturday.
  Gusty winds could produce poor visibility especially in higher
  elevations.
