NOAA has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Vermont, New York, and New Hampshire today and tomorrow that is calling for 6-12″ of snow and a bit of ice glaze.

Sounds like it’s going to be a funky storm with snow, then freezing rain, then snow again.

VERMONT:

Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and ice accumulations of a 
light glaze are expected. - NOAA, today

NEW HAMPSHIRE:

Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are expected. - NOAA,today

NEW YORK:

Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and ice accumulations of around one

Light to moderate snow will impact the region today with 3 to 6 inches expected 
through tonight. There will be a brief break in the precipitation tonight, then

...SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL EXPECTED TODAY INTO THIS EVENING...

.A warm front will approach New England from the southwest today
and will stall over southern New England tonight. As it moves
northeast...snow will overspread New Hampshire and then western
Maine from southwest to northeast late this morning and early
afternoon. The heaviest snow should fall midday into the early
evening before tapering off from the southwest. Precipitation may
end as a brief period of sleet or freezing drizzle after midnight
over southernmost New Hampshire and extreme southwestern Maine.

Another separate system will bring widespread mixed precipitation
to the region on Saturday. Very cold surface temperatures
combined with warmer air aloft may lead to large area of freezing
rain during the day Saturday. Hazardous travel conditions are
expected again with this system.

Including the cities of Berlin, Dummer, Milan, York Pond,
Lancaster, Bethlehem, Lincoln, Littleton, Sugar Hill, Thornton,

  Addison, Washington, and Caledonia Counties, along with Essex
  County New York.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 PM EST Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate snow will impact the region today
  with 3 to 6 inches expected by midnight. After a break in the
  precipitation tonight, mixed precipitation with areas of rain
  will develop across the area on Saturday morning, before
  transitioning back to all snow Saturday evening. Additional 3
  to 6 inches of snow possible. Be prepared for significant
  reductions in visibility at times and difficult travel
  conditions.
