The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for California. It is in effect from Friday at 11:00pm pst to Sunday Morning at 4:00am pst. Accumulating snow is even expected to occur at lake level in Lake Tahoe, CA.

1-3 FEET of Snow Above 7,000ft Friday Night – Sunday Morning.

Totals at Lake Tahoe level may range from 1 to 3″ with up to 8″, depending on how fast the snow levels drop.

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
 especially over passes. Damage to trees and power lines is
 possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with 1 to
 3 feet above 7000 to 7500 feet, are possible. Totals at Lake
 Tahoe level may range from 1 to 3 inches up to 8 inches
 depending on how quickly snow levels fall.
