The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Mammoth Mountain, CA.

It’s in effect from 5:00am Sunday morning – 5:00am Monday morning.

High winds and heavy snowfall are expected to impact the area throughout that time.

  • Winds Gusting As High As 40 MPH

“Out of season winter storm will create hazardous conditions for people in the Southern Sierra Nevada Sunday through early Monday morning. Travel could be difficult due to blowing snow and slick roads.”

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible above 6000 feet. Total snow
  accumulations of 4 to 8 inches possible above 6000 feet, with up
  to 12 inches possible above 7000 feet. Winds gusting as high as
  40 mph.

* WHERE...Central Sierra, North Kings River and Sequoia Kings
  above 6000 feet.

* WHEN...From late Saturday night through late Sunday night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions.
