NOAA: Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Utah | 10-18″ of Snow Today – Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Utah. It’s in effect Today – Friday. Persistent snowfall is forecasted to impact the area throughout that time.

Alta Ski Area and Brighton Resort have a few powder days ahead of them.

Utah:

  • 10-18″ of Snow Today – Friday

“Another storm system will bring another round of precipitation Thursday into Friday. Snow levels around 5,500-6,500 feet Thursday will fall to most valley floors by Friday afternoon. See the graphic for more information on timing, impacts, and potential accumulations.”

Snow levels will hover between 6,500ft and 5,500ft today, before falling to valley floors on Friday.

The 6-10 day outlook calls for above average precipitation and below average temperatures in Utah.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS
MORNING TO 10 PM MST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow, with total snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches
  expected.

* WHERE...The Wasatch and western Uinta Mountains.

* WHEN...Snow developing by early afternoon, then continuing at
  times overnight through the day Friday before diminishing
  Friday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winter driving conditions can be expected
  at times on mountain routes including I-80 through Parleys
  Canyon and Highway 89 through Logan Canyon.
