Yesterday, (Monday, March 11th) we were able to put the initial access road in, following Oregon Trail to the bottom of Silverado. This is an exciting, technical task, and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of snow that has collected in the zone. With the road put in, we have now started on the rest of the setup work: Completing full snow safety, building out the maze and ramps, marking obstacles and hazards, and placing boundary signage on the hill.

With all this said, we know you’re eager for Silverado to open. We are almost there! We are planning to open it as soon as possible. Some east winds in the forecast could affect the chair, and we want to give our teams ample time to set up safely. So, long story short: Silverado is coming soon, and you should check the next day’s scheduled lifts each afternoon to see when we put it on the schedule. This is updated by 4pm each day.

Here’s a short timelapse from below the Iron Curtain yesterday. The snowpack was pretty dense, which is good for building the road. You can read more about the process of how we put in the Silverado access road here.
