Thanks to over 3 feet of recent snowfall on our upper mountains and the hard work of our ops teams, weโre opening THIS FRIDAY! Weโll be kicking off the season with the Funitel, Gold Coast, and Shirley Lake, spinning 9am-3pm October 29-31. Grooming will be limited, so stay tuned for more details as our teams continue to assess conditions following this storm. This will mark one of the earliest openings in our mountainsโ historyโ Friday will be only the third time in 72 years of operation that the resort has opened in October. The last time we were able to open in October with comparable terrain was in 2004.
After this weekend, weโll be open weekends (weather & conditions permitting) in November until we kick off daily operations on our regularly scheduled Opening DayโWednesday, November 24. We canโt wait to kick off winter and make some Halloween weekend turns! https://www.palisadestahoe.com/events-and-activities/events-calendar/opening-day-2021

Following a massive early-season storm that delivered 10.5 inches of precipitation in just 24 hoursโand dropped three and a half feet of snow at upper elevationsโ Palisades Tahoe, CA will open almost a month earlier than planned, on Friday, October 29. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the frontline staff and operations crews, skiers and riders in the Tahoe area will be able to have the unique experience of hitting the slopes for Halloween weekend.

Guests will be able to ski the upper mountain on Opening Day, with plans to open the Funitel, Gold Coast Express, and Shirley Lake Express. Grooming will be limited, and more lifts may be added to the schedule as our operations teams continue to assess the mountain following this storm.
Ikon Pass holders have the most convenient access to the slopes, and Tahoe Super 4 Pack and Midweek 4 Pack are currently available for purchase at their lowest prices of the season. Day tickets will also be available for purchase; guests should buy their tickets online ahead of arrival for the lowest prices.
The Village at Palisades Tahoe will have dining and shopping options available among the many locally-owned businesses in the base area. The Gold Coast Lodge and Olympic House will offer only restroom access.
Palisades Tahoe will follow current CDC and Placer County guidelines for facial coverings. Facial coverings are strongly recommended for everyone in public places regardless of vaccination status.ย At this time, masks are required indoors for unvaccinated guests only.ย Masks are not required outdoors or in the Funitel or Tram. If or as guidelines change, our policies will be updated.
KT22 shuttered for what a lift that is being built in predominantly cross wind direction so will be more likely closed in typical mountainous wind events, and oh will take longer than 2 years to complete, will eventually require moving the base of red dog lift therefore requiring a new location for mogul competition courses and will block normal access to world class runs of West Face and Chute 75.

The inside story from a Palisades Tahoe employee is that KT-22 hasn’t passed safety inspections. The lift itself is fine, but the surrounding area has exposed rebar sticking up from the foundation of the B2B gondola. Mountain maintenance is working hard on covering up the area with the recent snowfall, but more snow is needed to help bury the B2B foundations.
