Penitentes ski resort in Argentina closed for the season yesterday.

Theyโ€™re citing low snow levels and a forecast of 13,000-foot freezing levels all week as the cause for their early closure.

Penitentes is the 2nd ski resort to close early this past weekend due to a lack of snow.

Nevados de Chillan, Chile closed yesterday after a rough season and a volcanic eruption.

I talked with them today and they said theyโ€™re closing due to low snow and a forecast of big heat this coming week.

Penitentes opened early this season on June 11th after a 10-foot dump in early June.

It appears they had a great June and July, then it hasnโ€™t snowed there since July.
