Jewelry designer and reality TV personality Lynn Ban shared a scary story on Instagram yesterday of how a seemingly innocuous fall while skiing at Aspen, Colorado, over the holidays resulted in emergency brain surgery and a fight for her life.

The life-changing accident occurred on Christmas Eve when she caught a tip, crashed, and face-planted. Despite initially feeling fine and being cleared by ski patrol, she decided to get a CAT scan at the hospital. This decision proved crucial, as doctors discovered a brain bleed, necessitating an emergency airlift and craniotomy.

“And In a blink of an eye โ€ฆ life can change .

Christmas Eve on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen on vacation with my family , I had a ski accident that would change my life . At the top of the mountain I caught a tip and face planted . Luckily I always wear a helmet , It didnโ€™t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom. Erring on the side of caution , I wanted to get checked out by ski patrol for a concussion . They assessed me and I was cleared. I had a bit of a headache but thought after lunch it would be fine and I could ski again . The paramedic suggested I I go to the hospital for a cat scan . This saved my life .

I went in a taxi with Jett and within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital . Last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy with Jett by my side .

Thereโ€™s a long road of recovery ahead but Iโ€™m a survivor and grateful to ski patrol , the incredible team of doctors and nurses and the โค๏ธand support my family and friends GOD IS GOOD

Grateful and blessed to see the new year ”

Thankfully, Ban was wearing a helmet. Had she not been the outcome could have been much worse. Ban credits the ski patrol, medical team, and support from family and friends for her survival. She now faces a long recovery process but expresses gratitude for the opportunity to see the new year, emphasizing her faith and resilience throughout the ordeal.
