Red Lodge Mountain, MT, who saw their first significant snow of the winter 20/21 season yesterday, recently announced their operating policies for the upcoming season. Unlike other ski areas/companies, the resort will not be limiting daily skier capacity or enforcing a reservation system.

Also among the announcement was their opening dates, November 27th – April 11th. Let the countdown commence…

Their full policy is below:

What the Season Will Look Like…

We’re excited to open for skiing and snowboarding on Friday, November 27, 2020. And barring any changes set forth by state and local governments, our plan is to stay open through Sunday, April, 11, 2021.

At this time, we do not anticipate limiting daily skier capacity or enforcing a reservation system.  Given the nature of this constantly evolving situation that could change depending on situational factors.

Please know that we all need to work together to prevent the spread of COVID so that we can have a full and epic ski season. We will be making operational adjustments throughout the season to follow guidelines and provide the safest environment we can.

Activities & Services That Will Be Closed:

We are still confirming all the finer details of operating during the winter season, but the following amenities won’t be offered when we initially open. We will continue to monitor the situation and advise guests if this changes.

  • Seasonal Locker Rooms – As of now the seasonal locker rooms will be closed. We are exploring other options such as a season-long ski check. Please know if conditions change, locker holders from last season will have first priority in securing a locker.

Policies & Operations

Face Masks will be required in all aspects of the operation, including:

  • loading and unloading chairlifts, this includes while in the lift line
  • inside all buildings
  • on guest shuttles
  • during all ski and snowboard lessons

Buffs and all normal ski masks that cover the mouth and nose will suffice as face masks. If your ski mask is too warm to wear inside, please bring a standard mask to wear.

Chairlifts & Lines

    • Face Masks are required in lift lines and when loading/unloading.
    • To maintain social distancing, we will only be loading related groups (guests skiing/riding together) on chairlifts. Individuals preferring to not ride with other skier/riders will be offered the opportunity to ride alone.
    • More information coming soon.

Lodges

In an effort to meet social distancing guidelines, we will be limiting capacity inside of our lodges this season. We will have more specific details as we get closer to the season, but all RLM skier and riders should be prepared to use their vehicle as a mini-lodge for activities such as getting ready and taking breaks.
