Big news coming from RED Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada: the resort will open for the season this Thursday, December 28th, 2023. RED Mountain Resort’s on-mountain Operations and Patrol teams have been working tirelessly these last few days to get the mountain ready for the season. Unfortunately, snowfalls in British Columbia this season have been below average and the season opening has been delayed.
On Thursday, the Magic Carpet Carpet, Silverlode, Motherlode, and Paradise Chairs will start spinning at RED. Please remember that snow conditions on the mountain are early-season conditions and guests are required to stick to designated and groomed runs. Natural hazards — both marked and unmarked — very much exist right now.
Check the resort’s Snow Report and social media channels for the latest updates. RED Mountain Resort will announce on Thursday morning which runs will officially be open to start the season. In terms of available terrain, please note that Motherlode Chair will only be intended as access between Paradise and the lower mountain.
A few other important things to know starting Thursday:
- The free Rossland to RED shuttle will be kicking off Thursday morning. View & download the schedule here.
- Lift tickets will be 30% off at the ticket window until further notice
- Paradise Lodge will be open with regular hours from 10am – 3pm
- Come to Rafters for the first aprės and No Shower Happy Hour of the season, open 11am – 6pm with No Shower Happy Hour kicking off at 2pm.
- The Rental Shop (8am – 4pm) and Retail Store (8:30am – 4:30pm) will also be ready for ya if you need any last-minute tune-ups or outerwear before hopping on the chair.
