It appears that there was a significant in-bounds avalanche at Nevados de Chillan, Chile this last Saturday, August 26, 2017. Nevados de Chillan has been seeing incredible amounts of snow this season including in the days leading up to this avalanche.
Ski Patrol and by standers immediately started a probe search for bodies. The rider who set off the avalanche rode away unharmed and proceeded to go to the bar a grab a cold one.
Remember to always check in with Ski Patrol if you set off an avalanche in bounds.
Below is the short description from Aprendica – Outdoor training Facebook Page:
“Again looking for a body with an online poll… in a ski resort.
This last Saturday a Brazilian rider pulled the avalanche, got lucky and went to take several beers to the bar, without warning the patrol. Which originated the organized search”
Translated from the original post by Aprendica – Outdoor Training:
“Otra vez buscando un cuerpo con sondeo en línea…en un centro de ski.
Este último sábado un rider brasileño gatillo la avalancha, tuvo suerte y se fue a tomar varias cervezas al bar, sin avisar a la patrulla. Lo cual originó la búsqueda organizada”
