Skiers and snowboarders: come show off your skills and enjoy an awesome weekend with the winter sports community in Lake Tahoe. The Village Board Shop, Tahoe Wellness Center, and local artist Dreda Dre are teaming up to bring The Rise Up Rail Jam to the Bijou Shopping Center in South Lake Tahoe, California on February 17 and 18, 2024.

The event will feature live music, $2,500 worth of branded prizes and raffle items from event partners, and a $500 cash prize. Also, one lucky grom could potentially get sponsored by the Village team.

There will be four different age brackets competing; groms (12 and under), teens (13-19), adult one (20-29), and adult two (30 and up). Registration to participate can be done in-store only at The Village Board Shop in South Lake Tahoe until Saturday, February 17.

On Saturday the course will open to all registered athletes at 9 a.m. for an open jam. Get a feel for the course while vibing to some live music prior to the main event.

On Sunday, check-in begins at 8 a.m. before the groms kick things off from 9-10 a.m., followed by 30-minute breaks between age brackets. Immediately following adult group two from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., there will be an awards ceremony and raffle.

The goal of this all-ages, any-skill-level event is for everyone to feel included, have a good time within the winter sports community, and bring the winter stoke back to South Lake Tahoe. In addition, it is the official pre-party for the Lake Tahoe Winter Reggae Festival at the new Tahoe Blue Event Center.

The Village Board Shop has been a staple in South Lake for more than 40 years. Their goals for the 2024/25 season are to expand the team of youth riders and start a non-profit designed to help the youth in South Lake Tahoe have better access to action sports.

Come out to watch or participate and support a new, awesome, and local event! Who knows, maybe you will win some cool prizes.
