Many roads in Lake Tahoe, CA and Mammoth, CA are closed due to heavy snow and strong winds.
Highways 80 and 50 are both closed for the day today (Sunday).
Palisades Tahoe is closed for the day due to heavy snow and strong winds.
Kirkwood is closed for the day as well.
Winds at Palisades Tahoe have been blowing over 100mph yesterday and today.
Palisades Tahoe has already gotten over 75″ of snowfall from this storm cycle.
There is no way into or out of Mammoth.
You might be able to get in and out of Tahoe on the Nevada side but not the California side.
We tried to drive over highway 80 and got denied this morning.
It’s time to stay home and wait it out…

- I 80: IS CLOSED FROM COLFAX (PLACER CO) TO THE NEVADA STATE LINE – DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
- US 50: IS CLOSED FROM 8.3 MI EAST OF PLACERVILLE TO MEYERS (EL DORADO CO) – DUE TO SNOW – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
- SR 267: IS CLOSED FROM 3.7 MI SOUTH OF TRUCKEE TO THE JCT OF SR 28 /IN KINGS BEACH/ (PLACER CO) – DUE TO SNOW – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
- SR 89: IS CLOSED FROM EAGLE POINT CAMPGROUND TO BLISS STATE PARK (EL DORADO CO) – DUE TO SNOW – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE

- SR 70: IS CLOSED FROM JARBO GAP (BUTTE CO) TO GREENVILLE WYE (PLUMAS CO) – DUE TO MUDSLIDE – MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
- SR 431: Is closed from Fairview Boulevard to Douglas Fir Drive in Nevada
ATTN DRIVERS: U.S. 395 remains closed from Gorge Road north of Bishop to the junction of State Route 182 in Bridgeport. There is no ETO for when it will reopen. Caltrans maintenance crews are working to reopen the highway as soon as possible.
