The San Francisco-based camera company, led by a team of former Apple and Instagram engineers, that enables anyone to create unbelievable videos, today announced the addition of two powerful new features to “ViewFinder,” the extensive suite of editing tools available through the Rylo app. With the debut of Zoom and Speed, Rylo now enables more creative freedom than ever, providing a whole new range of capabilities for users to direct and edit videos after they shoot.
The new Zoom tool creates smooth zoom effects, enabling users to seamlessly transition across a range of perspectives, from closeup to wide angle to tiny planet, all within a single clip. Meanwhile, the Speed tool allows users to integrate timelapse within any segment of a video.

As is customary with its software-first approach, Rylo has made the new editing tools available to all consumers free of charge. Beginning today, Rylo owners can download the ViewFinder update straight to their mobile device or MacOS desktop system through the Rylo app. Consumers can also preview and test the new features, and all existing Rylo editing tools, with free downloadable content.
With the addition of Speed and Zoom, the full suite of editing tools now available in ViewFinder on the Rylo app includes:
- Reframe – Choose your camera angle — after you’ve shot your clip
- Points – Set points within a clip to tell ViewFinder what you want it to do and when
- Zoom – Create smooth zoom effects, from closeup to wide angle to tiny planet
- Speed – Timelapse any part of your video
- Follow – Tap on your subject, and ViewFinder will keep them centered in the shot
- Stills – Frame up and share the perfect photo from your video
- FrontBack – Share two camera angles at the same time
- Stabilization – Incredibly smooth video, no gimbal required
- Level – Rylo automatically levels the horizon of your shots
