Another ski resort on the West Coast has closed its doors due to low snow today.  Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort near South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Sierra-at-Tahoe has suspended winter operations, as of Monday, March 16.
This includes all skiing/snowboarding operations, tubing & snow play areas, restaurant outlets, rental and retail shops. Our Season Pass Office will be open daily, 8:30am-4pm to assist with any questions regarding your Season Pass or My Sierra Rewards membership (reachable at passoffice@sierraattahoe.com or 530.659.7453 x208). – Sierra-at-Tahoe

Sierra-at-Tahoe is likely not going to open again this winter.  This would be the earliest closing or the usually very snowy Sierra-at-Tahoe since the 1970s.

If they get a big storm, they may reopen, but it’s getting late and the forecast isn’t cooperating.

As far as we can tell, this is at least the 21st ski resort on the West Coast to shut down due to low snow this winter.

  1. So sorry to see so many of these fine Western ski resorts closing so early due to lack of snow. Apparently, Ullr is not a happy camper these days…. 🙁
