The first high-speed lift at Ski Santa Fe, New Mexico, will be completed in time for the 2024/25 ski and snowboard season. Ski Santa Fe’s Chair 1, Super Chief Quad, which has been running since 1988, will be replaced by a brand new and super fast Leitner-Poma Quad Chair. This new lift will be called the “Santa Fe Express.”

Ski Santa Fe is a privately owned ski resort located 16 miles from the city of Santa Fe. The resort offers 86 trails serviced by seven lifts and has a peak elevation of 10,000 feet.

What used to be a 10-minute lift ride will now just take slightly over four minutes to reach the top thanks to the new lift. In addition to easing congestion on busy days and reducing lift lines, the new lift will make the overall experience for riders of all abilities much better. The new chairlift will give riders access to 865 vertical feet of beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain.

The new high-speed chairlift, the first of its kind at Ski Santa Fe since the installation of the three-person Millennium Chairlift by Leitner-Poma in 2005, will be a significant addition to the resort’s lift system. Thanks to the cooperation and support of the Santa Fe National Forest, it is projected that construction will begin in April 2024 and conclude by early November 2024, just in time for next year’s ski season.
