The time is finally here…off-trail skiing and celebrating the opening day for Sugar Bowl’s 75th season.
Opening day access was through the village via the awesome old school gondola. However, the meat of the skiing was on Mt. Lincoln. With light rain and a thick cloud layer it definitely was not the most ideal day in the weather department but fun prevailed. The terrain included anything from the Rahlve’s Run to Lake View for about halfway down the chair, and at that point, the groomer was the call as the off-trail snow was a wee bit sticky. The top half of Mt. Lincoln was smooth and fast yielding fun slashing turns between the trees. Coverage was actually pretty good up there and my skis left the mountain in the same condition as arrival. Stoked.
The next storm is quickly approaching…and with a couple feel of snow down low, we should be game-on in the Tahoe region. Fingers Crossed.

The weather stayed like this for the duration of our stay…

We spent the morning traversing the trees for un-tracked snow…
Seth had fun being the ski model for the day…

But ON THE PISTE, he’s unstoppable!
Even though were soaked by 10:30am, we played around in some fun terrain on opening day…
This may be the deepest carve without falling on record…
We were even able to get a little air under our boards…
