Hot on the heels of last week’s snow on 14,115-foot Pikes Peak in Colorado, the flakes have started to fall slightly closer to Denver and the Front Range.ย

Webcam images from 11,307-foot Berthoud Pass (US-40) show snow on the ground in the parking lot at the summit of the pass and the base of the old ski area.

While itโ€™s not uncommon to see snow mid-summer on Coloradoโ€™s 14,000โ€ฒ peaks, this one at a much lower elevation hits us especially hard knowing that meteorological fall starts in only 9-days on September 1.

Astronomical fall starts in only 30-days on September 22!

Winter is comingโ€ฆ
