A major winter storm will impact Colorado this weekend, dropping 6-25″ at resorts around the region between Thursday night and Monday morning, favoring the central and northern mountains.

Snowfall will begin on Thursday evening in the southern mountains and gradually work its way north. For the next three days, pulses of moisture will arrive from the west and northwest, bringing steady light to moderate snowfall to the state. By Monday morning, here are realistic totals for resorts around the region:

  • Steamboat: 18-24″
  • I-70 resorts: 8-15″
  • Aspen/Snowmass: 12-24″
  • Crested Butte: 10-20″
  • Telluride: 6-12″
  • Wolf Creek: 5-8″

Beyond this weekend, high pressure builds over the west early next week, steering moisture and storm energy around Colorado to the north.
