I have fond memories of driving down to Killington, Vermont every spring from my hometown of Montreal for the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge. Killington was legendary for a few things back then: the longest ski season (they were often open ’til June each year!), amazing spring moguls on Bear Mountain and pretty much the coolest spring ski party scene in the east.

Not much has changed, as they still stay open to June most years and spring skiing is some of the best in this Vermont ski town. This year, Killington is kicking off spring skiing with a bang, offering their spring pass for a steal so you can ski or ride all day, every day, until the end of the season. If you get one before March 16th, it’s $189 and after is $209. So for about two hundred bucks there will be a potential, if things go as they usually do until early June, for almost 3 months of shredding one of the best mountains in Eastern North America.
Killington Nor’Beaster Spring Pass
Killington boasts some impressive numbers. Located in Southern Vermont, it’s a huge resort, with almost two thousand acres of skiable terrain. But the other thing Killington has got is soul. I spent my teenage ski years longing to win the mogul comp and dreaming of living in Killington so I could ski there every day. It’s a skier’s paradise all winter long, but springtime is when the party starts. To get the party rolling, Killington will be hosting the Nor-Beaster Series of Events. From mogul clinics with legends like Donna Weinbrecht to the Dos Equis Ski Bum Race Series to the Killington Pond Skimming Event, this spring in Vermont is going to be one big party.
But the highlight of the spring season will be the Dos Equis Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge. Pretty much the most famous mogul comp in the world, the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge is a weekend on-snow party like no other in the ski world. So don’t waste anymore time. Plan your trip, grab a spring pass and come shred some bumps this spring in Killington.
