One week after opening, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows will open new terrain today, following the Thanksgiving storm that dumped 18 inches on the resort’s iconic peaks (and it’s still snowing). Squaw Valley’s upper mountain will open for the season with Gold Coast Express chairlift opening tomorrow, with access to intermediate terrain on Gold Coast run. At Alpine Meadows, Nick’s Run will open for more intermediate terrain off of Kangaroo chair.

Non-skiing activities abound at Squaw Valley, with the SnoVentures Activity Center open for snow tubing, and the Aerial Tram ready to whisk you and your family past picturesque, snow-capped peaks to an elevation of 8,200 ft. Up at High Camp, the newly remodeled Terrace Restaurant & Bar and High Camp Marketplace will be open for limited food service. The Welcome to Winter Party tomorrow in The Village at Squaw Valley will feature the PlumpJack Sport Fashion Show with MC Jonny Moseley, visits with Santa, and a Small Business Saturday with free gift wrapping from the North Lake Tahoe Chamber. Warren Miller’s “Face of Winter” movie will also play tonight and tomorrow night at Olympic Village Lodge.

With strong winds and snow still moving through today and tomorrow, guests are encouraged to stay updated with the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows App for the most up-to-date lift, terrain and weather information.

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is just 1 of 38 iconic destinations available on the Ikon Pass.
